Description

Extended stays in the paddock, your nose always in the lush green - this is the idyll you want for your horse.

But especially for four-legged friends who were originally bred for austere living conditions, feasting on sugar-rich pasture grass can have fatal consequences. It often ends in the disaster of laminitis. There are also more sources of carbohydrates in everyday life. Not only oats, but all types of grain and therefore also the typical grain-rich mueslis are “starch bombs”. Too much starch and sugar cause blood sugar levels to rise. The body then requires insulin to transport blood sugar to the body's tissues. Frequent blood sugar and insulin spikes lead to a long-term decrease in insulin effectiveness and insulin resistance. It is now considered a main cause of laminitis.

To prevent deer, grazing for susceptible horses should be restricted and an extensive exercise program should be implemented instead. At the same time, a low-starch diet that contains enough functional micronutrients to support sugar metabolism is advisable.

Glucogard supports the fight against laminitis.
Counteracts nutrient deficiencies that can contribute to insulin resistance, reduced blood flow and tissue damage in the hoof area. GlucoGard should therefore be included in the feed ration of all horses at risk of laminitis.

    • for nutrient supplementation after laminitis
    • in case of acute danger of deer
    • Mineral feed replacement for pure roughage rations
    • ideal to combine with EquiGard

Glucogard was designed as a nutrient concentrate for horses with metabolic or Cushing's syndrome and an increased risk of laminitis. In this situation, it is important to improve the responsiveness of the tissue to insulin on the basis of a low-grain diet. According to current scientific opinion, this can reduce the risk of laminitis.

Glucogard can provide valuable help with its functional nutrients.

The sugar and insulin metabolism depends, among other things, on vitamins of the B complex and minerals such as magnesium, zinc, manganese and trivalent chromium. Cell-protective vital substances such as vitamin E and selenium contribute to the integrity of the insulin molecules and to the protection of the hoof dermis, which is at risk of inflammation. Nutrients from brewer's yeast and certain forage herbs also support insulin in blood sugar control.

Glucogard contains all of the listed active ingredients in biologically active form, including chromium as a component of brewer's yeast and the added herbs.
