Description

On the basis of high-quality hay and straw, the Icelandic needs a needs-based supply of trace elements, which in some cases has to be capped with zinc when changing the coat. In some cases, additional support for the liver with herbs containing bitter substances is also useful.

Bitter plant substances support bile flow and liver function. A weakened liver (for example due to silage, haylage or poor feed quality) provokes allergies and eczema.

Supplementary feed for horses

More mobility for horses
Arthritis, arthrosis, spasms, tendon damage and many other diseases of the musculoskeletal system can now be traced back to long-term nutritional deficiencies, among other things. In certain situations, a nutrient deficiency can make it impossible to combat inflammation. The Dragon Slayer supplies targeted nutrients, the need for which increases both in old age and in special life situations in which more exercise potential is necessary.

Prostaglandin formation through polyunsaturated fatty acids
The omega-3 fatty acids include alpha-linolenic acid, which, however, is only partially converted into eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), which is more valuable for the body, and then into docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). These fatty acids are the basis for the formation of the tissue hormone prostaglandin 3, which has an active anti-inflammatory effect in the body. However, the conversion of alpha-linolenic acid via eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) to docosahexaenoic acid only occurs to a small extent. Since supplying docosahexaenoic acid via fish products is unsuitable for horses in terms of taste, feeding specially cultivated algae such as Schizochytrum limacinum makes absolute sense.

Dihomogammalinolenic acid (DGLA) is formed among the omega-6 fatty acids, which include gamma-linolenic acid (from borage and evening primrose oil). DGLA contributes to the formation of prostaglandin 1, which also helps fight inflammation. In order to ensure the positive effect of dihomogammalinolenic acid, an additional sufficient supply of omega-3 fatty acids is necessary.

Regeneration of connective tissue
The body's basic building blocks of healthy cartilage, bone and tendon tissue include the sulfur-containing glucosamine and chondroitin compounds. These are normally produced in the body itself. The need for these high-quality nutrients is particularly increased when there are signs of wear and tear or inflammation in the joint or present in the musculoskeletal system. A lack of special nutrients, such as manganese, silicon (from millet) or sulfur, inhibits the body's own synthesis. As an ad hoc feeding measure, it can therefore make sense to temporarily feed glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate until the body is able to produce the building blocks itself again.

Inflammation in the body is often provoked by excessive levels of free radicals. Normally, antioxidant systems ensure the rapid breakdown of these cell-destroying molecular compounds. An inadequate nutritional supply of antioxidant secondary plant substances or vitamin E as a classic antioxidant restricts the activity of the connective tissue cells that are involved in the formation of the extracellular matrix.

The No. 3 Dragon Slayer has already caused astonishment among many horse owners during its introductory phase. Now the recipe has been expanded and improved, based on the motto: “The enemy of the good is the better”. This excellent product is based on a mixture of herbs and oil fruits. The wealth of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids (including from linseed, hemp, evening primrose and borage seeds) is now topped by the polyunsaturated docosahexaenoic acid from the algae Schizochytrum limacinum.

The No. 3 Dragon Slayer amazes with his selected herbal potpourrie of ginger, devil's claw and tarragon. The recipe is rounded off with rose hips, aronia fruits and pomegranate. Natural vitamin E has been generously added to this high-quality product.

The dragon slayer's highly efficient and concentrated nutritional components leave no room for the worthless fillers that are usually added to horse feed, such as glucose, wheat semolina flour, etc. This means that even the smallest feeding quantities can be surprising. Like all dr.WEYRAUCH products, No. 3 Dragon Slayer is guaranteed to be free of preservatives, sweeteners, binding agents, flavorings or fillers. For animal welfare reasons, we have deliberately avoided using green-lipped mussels.

our recommendation
Older horses in particular or horses that have already been exposed to a lot of stress in life, but also racehorses in early training, benefit from No. 3 Dragon Slayer, which adds to the usual feed ration, best enhanced with No. 4 Goldworth or No. 19 Mordskerl as a supplier of more value Trace elements such as zinc, copper, manganese and selenium should be fed. Please note that Dragon Slayer contains plant components, such as devil's claw, which are currently subject to doping regulations. Therefore, a four-day feeding break before starting makes sense.

composition
Oil fruits (linseed, hemp, borage and evening primrose seeds), dried herbs (meadowsweet, mistletoe, horsetail, oregano, goose finger, tarragon), dried roots (ginger, devil's claw, turmeric, yam), glucamine sulfate, fruits (rose hips, aronia, Pomegranate), algae (Schizochytrum limacinum), dried bark (cinnamon, willow), chondroitin sulfate, millet dry extract (contains silicon)

Additives/kg
natural vitamin E 6,000 mg

Analytic components:
Crude protein 9%, crude fat 7%, crude fiber 6%, crude ash 9%, sodium 0%

Feeding recommendation:
Feeding amount 20 to 30g (1.5 to 2 measuring spoons) daily, in special situations 40g.

This product is relevant to doping and should be discontinued at least four days before the start. Since this is a very high-quality product, intermittent or short-term feeding is also possible.
